Diamond Baseball Reopening Message from Chris Whitfield

April 28, 2020

Diamond families,

I hope everyone is healthy and safe. This has been an unpresented time as baseball/softball (among other things) has been shut down. I feel for all players, from t-ballers to high school seniors. My heart goes out to all, in particular, the seniors I know and have coached. We have all missed baseball.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be opening Friday, May 1st, 7 days of week. The facility will open earlier in the day, as some instructors may start earlier to try to keep safe distance and numbers in the building.

This week, we will reach out to clients with existing lessons. We will verify all upcoming appointments. New clients can call Diamond at 865-288-3624 or email info@h3sports.org to inquire about lesson.

We have and will continue to do the following to insure we are compliant with guidelines and doing all we can to make the community as safe as possible:

Diamond Baseball facility continued all cleaning operations throughout the shut down.

All 3 sets of doors at the facility will remain propped open during hours of operations so that clients do not have to open any door.

Hand sanitizer will be available at clients entry and exit.

Plexiglass sneeze guards now cover the front counter. Staff at our point of sale will be masked and gloved. (This is where you pay and schedule future lessons.)

All active cages and pitching labs will have tape on turf to insure the 6-foot social distancing.

Cleaning the facility will continue on a daily and hourly basis.

Lobby will remain closed.

Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment. We take your safety and health very seriously. On Friday, May 1st, we will operate as follows:

Employees will be screened daily.

We are Open by lesson only. Please enter the building at time of your lesson so that we can limit numbers in facility.

If you are coming for a hitting lesson, bring bat and batting gloves only. If you are coming for a pitching lesson, bring glove only. No bags.

Players are welcome to wear face masks. Our instructors will wear masks during lessons and keep a safe 6-foot distance.

No high fives or fist bumps, let’s tip our caps for the time being.

Only the scheduled player should enter for lesson. Do not bring any extra guests.

If you or someone you live with has been sick in the past 2 weeks, please wait at least 14 days to reschedule your lesson.

No walk-ins for at least 2 weeks.

Members & Rentals must call to schedule cage/mound time as we are opening up certain blocks of time to limit numbers in the facility.

Pre-pay by phone for all services will be available so that players can go directly to lesson.

We at Diamond are doing our absolute best to bring back baseball. Please help us to comply with these guidelines. Our success depends on each of us. Wash hands, keep safe distance, and stay home if you don’t feel well. Just like as in baseball—we’re a team, we’re in this together.

Kind regards,

Chris Whitfield
